Gaindakot Online - गैंडाकोट अनलाईन Gaindakot is a beautiful village located on the western border of Narayangarh city. The village is fastly growing in terms of population and development.

The main reasons for it's fast development are arable land, opportunities of employment, easy access to health, education, transport and other facilities. The place found it's value in people's mind as an ideal place to live on constructing the Mahendra highway, the bridge above the narayani river and various industries. The place is surroundeed by the Narayani river on east & south, a small creek

(called kharkhare khola) on the west and the Kalidandaki river on the north. The Mahabharat mountain range lies in the heart of gaindakot mostly covered with the sub-tropical forest. This forest is teemed with various flora and fauna. Some of them are rare Leopard, bear, etc. The name Gaindakot is derived from the most precious and rare animal called "One horned rihno" for being the abode of the latter in relatively high land. A lot of rhinos were said to have been roaming around in the plain lower part of gaindakot before deforestation. Due to the massive deforestation and settlement of people, the rihnos are not seen in gaindakot very much. However, Rhinos come over to Gaindakot from the nearby jungle of Chitwan National Park especially in the winter season.
