The You Matter charity beard and mustache competition has taken the "bearding" community by storm, quickly becoming one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. This year, the event promises to be bigger and better than ever before, with 14 different beard and mustache styles on display, as well as a creative "build off" for those looking to show off their crafty skills.

Hosted at the Historic Casino Hall in La Grange TX, this event is not to be missed. Shannon Clinkenbeard, the event organizer, joins Talking Beards to give us the inside scoop on all the exciting details. With a long list of generous sponsors, there will be plenty of great raffle and auction items up for grabs.

But this event is more than just a fun competition. It's a chance to give back to the community. All proceeds from the event will benefit The Wellness Council of the Greater Colorado Valley, a local charity doing important work to promote health and wellness in the area.

Welcome to a special Wednesday night episode of Talking Beards, where we dive into all things facial hair. Tonight, we'll be discussing the highly anticipated 2023 National Beard & Moustache Championships.

As with any major event, there are pros and cons to consider. On one hand, the championships provide a platform for enthusiasts to showcase their impressive facial hair styles and compete against other like-minded individuals from across the country. It's an opportunity to connect with fellow beard lovers and celebrate all that is unique about our hairy features.

However, on the other hand, these types of events can also be incredibly competitive and stressful for participants. The pressure to perform at such a high level can be overwhelming, leading some competitors to resort to less-than-ethical tactics in order to gain an edge over their opponents.

But let's not forget about the upcoming events! There are so many exciting opportunities on the horizon for those passionate about facial hair. From local competitions to international gatherings, there is no shortage of ways to get involved in this vibrant community.
