Here it is, 55 years in this game of life
aka Level 55

Feeling extremely grateful and humbled. Seriously full of gratitude.
I’ve been blessed with so many once in a lifetime experiences and a career I could only have dreamt of.

Thanks to the willpower and work ethic my parents (RIP), extended fam, coaches and mentors instilled in me (plus a few skills 😜) I’ve been able to remain true to myself and focus on having longevity with my career.

And when it comes to support, I couldn’t have asked for more…great friends, loving and supportive family, a beautiful wife/best friend and people who appreciate my style of DJing.

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported me in my journey. And endless thanks to my wife .am.ahnne for holding things down and keeping me motivated and sane.

DJ Bone's House and Disco alias Doc Ciroc releases his first-ever music on FURTHER Records as part of the label's huge June 1st drop of six releases. 'Living Life', the label and artist's first single track release, is a crunching Detroit House celebration that Bone sums up best himself.

"Living Life was meant to be a multiple-track EP. But during the process I felt I had something really special with the lead track on its own. I decided to do a solo track release, which I'd never done before.

Detroit House has always been different. From uptempo to beatdown there's such unique funk and jazz elements that are so distinctly Detroit. I can't wait to release more as Doc Ciroc!"

DJ Bone’s fifth album, ‘DJ Bone - DJ Bone ###V: The End of Never’, released on June 1st as part of a six-release drop on FURTHER RECORDS, is an eight-track exploration of what Detroit Techno is, past and present, to one of it’s most beloved proponents.

‘What I wanted to portray with The End of Never is my dedication to keeping the essence of Detroit Techno (in particular) alive while also displaying how timeless it is. Detroit DJs still play older songs and people think they’re new.

By incorporating a lot of uncommon sounds and varying tempos this release champions the roots and innovation that we know as techno today.’

From the overdriven rawness of opener ‘Critical’ and tracks like ‘Deep Inside’ via the sliding Jazz and musicality of ‘The End of Never’, ‘The Smooth Ones’ and ‘The Hypnotist’, ‘DJ Bone ###V: The End of Never’ is about Detroit as a feeling and Bone projects this with the deft skill he’s
become known for both in the studio and behind the decks.

DJ Bone's FURTHER Records celebrates the 30th Anniversary of its predecessor, Subject Detroit, this June with Volume 1 of a remix package that features interpretations of DJ Bone classics from Mark Williams, Tälor, Azucy, Mark Broom, Jack Fresia, Vinicius Honorio, Marco Bailey and DJ Bone himself.

Operating from 1995 to 2023, Subject Detroit and its sub-labels, Encounter and Subject Detroit Global Series, were the conduit that helped establish DJ Bone as one of the Motor City's finest contemporary exports. Embracing the global Techno scene, something Bone has become known for, Subject Detroit also provided a platform for Stephen Brown, Deetron, Fabric Lig, Itokim, Mark Williams and more, who conveyed the 'essence of Detroit Techno' from afar.

It started as a sit-down event during lockdown in Amsterdam - a space to connect, educate, commune, and blow off steam when parts of the world stood static. Once restrictions lifted, it evolved into a full-fledged night allowing us to take it all FURTHER.

Now, five years on, we celebrate the milestone of FURTHER. But this was never meant to be just another club night. It was about the journey - via sound, through time, laid-out with soul.

Past, present, and future all in one venue.

This year marks more than just 5 years of FURTHER, we also celebrate the significant milestones of 30 years of Subject Detroit and 35 years of DJ Bone, and still going. All proof that you can stay true to yourself and still achieve longevity. That roots run deeper than hype.

What started off as a couple of gigs turned into an extended tour!
From Honolulu to an underground event held in a Chinese food restaurant to amazing events all across the US, it’s been really real. I felt the love at each and every venue. Thank you so much. Let’s keep the underground alive!
