Rainy days are the best of times the worst of times…☺

It was chucking it down today and so we had a duvet day. The dogs were OK with this, thank goodness. I am the only one who has cabin fever now.

There were inevitably some wees in the house but nothing too awful. Berry took advantage of a moment's inattention to steal a pack of food. She had the cardboard covering and then the plastic tray open and the meat partially swallowed in a nano second. The house looks like a tip - toys and destuffing everywhere. Please may the weather be better tomorrow! We are going out anyway.

Here's lazy Arthur. He wouldn't mind a duvet day every day. He is Maisie's boyfriend. 😍

Lovely 💕

Brutus & Theo have been getting fed up as we’ve not posted news on FB for so long! Huge apologies to our friends for being so absent. We’ve had a massively challenging year on lots of fronts but we’re hoping that life is finally getting back to normal.

One of our amazing specialist fabric partners went into administration – a fabulous British textiles company who we’ve worked with since we started out in 2010 that has been going for decades and is the last one of its kind in the UK. The good news is that they were rescued and are fully operational again – yippee!

However, their administration came totally out of the blue and created huge problems for us at a time when Jenny is still feeling the effects of her cancer treatment and Chloe was on maternity leave. I ended up having to deal with what looked like an existential crisis for our little company which was very stressful but thankfully we’re through that now – the textiles company has been rescued and we don’t have to go ahead with the incredibly stressful plans I’d had to work up to basically re-design most of our bedding collection whilst having potentially no lovely Charley Chau beds at all while that happened!

Our stock levels are now very nearly back to normal thank goodness so we feel like we can breathe a little more easily. It has been a real lesson in how vulnerable a small business can be in the context of this big world of global trade.

So, getting back to normal … next week it’s the Defender Burghley Horse Trials and Jenny and I can’t wait to be out on our show stand again and catching up with our canine and human customers in person ❤ Same spot as usual and we’ve got some gorgeous new beds and gorgeous new blankets to share so keep your eyes peeled for those.

Burghley starts next Thursday, 5 September, and Brutus and Theo are on meet and greet duties on the stand - pretty girl dogs who visit beware!

In other news … Jenny is feeling much better although her treatment drugs still make her feel tired, Chloe is back from maternity leave next week which is beyond brilliant, and the damage caused by a huge water leak from the flat above mine that rendered my flat uninhabitable has now been dealt with.
All of the doglets are on top form even though Tino and Theo are now little old men at 13, and Brutus is currently ranked Top Male Italian Greyhound in the country even though I haven’t been able to get to all the shows with him. Brutie is competing again tomorrow after what feels like a couple of months out of the ring and our judge is the legendary dog show judge, Frank Kane – you’ll know him if you’ve ever watched Crufts as he does the commentary! x x x Christine

So we have a new little member of the pack! Dana is a rescue lurcher girl and full of jumping beans! Yet the Rox still puts up with her and we can’t wait to see how big she’s actually going to get! 😎🫶❤️‍🔥

Good morning, I'm Trixie, and I am a 4 1/2 year old female Greyhound that is looking for a wonderful retirement home to call my own.

I am a sweet and friendly girl that really likes to be around people. My favourite thing is toys! I love to play, and you will often see me playing in my kennel, this picture is of me and my new piggy I just got!

I am currently living with another Greyhound called Cindy, as she was very shut down and worried when we came in. I've been teaching her how to trust people, by watching me and is slowly coming out of her shell - we are great friends!
