$800 and 20 hours is all that stands between us and TEOTIHUACÁN becoming a reality.

I've been so incredibly humbled by how many of you have shown top and supported our dreams. As a kid growing up all I wanted was to know I wasn't alone in feeling like I had no identity, and to meet so many people over the last 30 days telling me they felt the same exact way and that the world needs a book like TEOTIHUACÁN has been one of the best experiences of my life.

I'm asking ya'll again, one last time, to help us put this book into the hands of comic readers everywhere. If a story about accepting yourself, finding your voice, and epic Aztec gods fighting terrifying ancient monsters sounds like something you or someone you love would be into, please share, support, and send us good vibes to close out the day strong!!!

WEEK 1 RECAP!

We’re officially 1 week into our Kickstarter campaign for and it’s been an absolutely incredible ride so far! Here are just some of the highlights!

💚 We were featured as a Kickstarter “Project We Love” just a few minutes after launching!

🖍️ We brought even more dope artists on to our team, including our talented colorist !

📈 We hit 33% of our goal with a total of 59 incredible backers!

🙏We still have a long way to go and only 23 days left to bring this book to life! If you’ve been thinking about backing or telling a friend to back, now is the time!!! Every time ya’ll back this book our chances of getting fully funded increase. We have about an 85% likelihood to hit our funding goal at our current numbers, so let’s keep that pace with some last minute week one support!

I am so excited to announce TEOTIHUACÁN: A Modern Day Mexica Graphic Novel Vol. 1 is now live!!

This project has been a lifetime in the making. While that may seem dramatic, it's true. This story is based on my life, my family and my Mexican heritage, all of which I am so proud of.

As the "no sabo kid" of an immigrant father, I grew up constantly having with my feet in two different worlds 🇺🇸 . One in your typical suburban lifestyle where I banged my head to whiny pop punk music and mingled with quintessentially American friends. And one in a world where I celebrated holidays like Dia De Los Reyes Magos and called my Abuelita on Mexican Mother's Day. 🇲🇽

But the common thread that always connected me and my primos whenever I visited Mexico was the sci-fi and fantasy worlds we all knew and loved. We'd communicate through Power Rangers quotes and talk about our favorite superheroes, and that is what inspired me to write ✍️ this book. ✍️

TEOTIHUACÁN is a merging of those two worlds with nods to my home, Los Angeles, my heritage, Aztec Gods, and how that has made me who I am today.

I cannot wait to keep sharing more about this story, answer your questions, give sneak peeks and ultimately have this graphic novel in your hands!! 🤩

Here are some awesome little LA Easter eggs in the pages of ! When I was writing it I was living in Eagle Rock so when working with our artist we snuck in some references to iconic Eagle Rock locations.

For those that don’t know. Vidiots is a cinephiles dream: a video rental store/theater with plenty of dope screenings. Swork is a little more personal, a coffee shop that I wrote huge chunks of the story in many Saturday afternoons. It’s been replaced with another spot but it lives on in our book!

Andrea is an incredibly talented Latina comic book artist from Portland, OR. From our very first meeting she completely understood the tone, themes, and importance of . Not only has she collaborated on a ton of Kickstarter comics herself, but she is also part of the inaugural class of DC Comics Milestone Initiative! She’s been an invaluable partner as we build Alejo and Quetz’s world together and Ya’ll should follow her ASAP!
