WE PUT THE BETTYS INTO TECH.
The comedy web series Tech Bettys has officially embarked on its international festival tour, brought to you by Goodly Rotten Apple Prod./Creator Mary McGloin and Painted Saint Ent./Director Kathleen Davison.
When HBO's Silicon Valley premiered at the SXSW film festival, Mary McGloin asked creator Mike Judge why there were no female engineers featured in the show, adding, "I don't mean to be challenging, but we exist." Deciding to fill the void herself, McGloin drew upon her own experience as a Q.A. engineer to craft the comedy web series Tech Bettys, centered on the first two women hired by a male dominated stealth mode tech startup company.
While not yet publicly released, you can catch a sneak peek as Tech Bettys circles the globe on the festival circuit.
First Stop: LA, where Tech Bettys nabbed the Audience Award and nominations for Best Web Series and Grand Prize at the New Media Film Festival.
