GUIDELINES:
BAGA-UMA CHRISTMAS VILLAGE DECORATION CONTEST
🎄 Theme: "Sustainable Christmas Village"
Participants must create a festive 6-square-meter Christmas village display using recyclable or indigenous materials, incorporating lights while adhering to fire safety codes.
🏆 PRIZES:
• 1st Place: ₱50,000.00
• 2nd Place: ₱30,000.00
• 3rd Place: ₱20,000.00
(Consolation price for the non-winners)
📜 CONTEST RULES & GUIDELINES:
1. ELIGIBILITY:
• Exclusively for Aroroy residents
• Open to individuals, families, purok, barangays LGUs, schools, offices, etc.
• Registration deadline: September 5, 2025.
2. DECORATION REQUIREMENTS:
✅ Area: Must fit within 6 square meters (e.g., 2m x 3m).
✅ Materials: At least 70% recycled or indigenous materials (e.g., wood, bamboo, bottles, fabric scraps, dried leaves). No excessive plastic or non-biodegradable decor.
✅ Lights & Electricity:
• LED lights preferred (energy-efficient).
• Must follow fire safety standards (no exposed wiring, overloaded circuits).
• Use battery-operated lights if no safe electrical access.
✅ Theme Interpretation:
• Must depict a Christmas village (e.g., houses, snow, Santa, carolers, etc.).
• Creativity and storytelling are encouraged!
3. JUDGING CRITERIA:
Category Weight Details
Creativity & Originality 30% Unique use of materials and concept.
Adherence to Theme 25% How well it represents a Christmas village.
Sustainability 20% Use of eco-friendly/recycled materials.
Visual Impact & Aesthetics 15% Overall beauty and appeal.
Safety Compliance 10% Follows fire hazard rules.
4. SUBMISSION & DISPLAY:
• Setup Date: September onwards
• Location: INFRONT OF BARANGAY HALL (BAGA-UMA)
• Duration: Display will remain from December 01, 2025 to January 11, 2026
5. DISQUALIFICATION:
🚫 Exceeding size limit.
🚫 Using prohibited materials (e.g., hazardous chemicals, non-recyclable plastics).
🚫 Violating fire safety rules.
6. AWARDING CEREMONY:
• Date: January 10, 2026
• Time: 07:00 in the evening
• Location: Barangay Baga-uma Community Covered Court
📝 HOW TO JOIN:
1. Register at Barangay (Baga-uma) Hall by September 05, 2025.
2. Submit a brief sketch/description of your design (optional).
3. Attend a brief safety orientation.
4. Decorate your assigned 6sqm space upon registration.
