Luke Thomas is a leading voice and analyst in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) whose work routinely crosses media platforms. He is also a writer and podcaster at MMA Fighting (SB Nation) where he hosts his Monday Morning Analyst and Promotional Malpractice Live Chat podcasts. He previously forged a partnership with USA Today to create the co-branded USA Today/SB Nation Consensus MMA Rankings.

His work has also appeared in the Washington Post, Salon.com, ESPN.com and dozens of newspapers across the country. Thomas formerly hosted MMA Nation on CBS Radio's 106.7 The Fan in Washington, D.C. and served as on-air co-host of Spike TV's MMA Uncensored Live.

Had the opportunity to catch the remastered ‘Ran’ in a movie theater. This is the masterpiece by my personal favorite movie director, Akira Kurosawa (I mention this a lot). Every time I see this movie I see or feel something different than the last viewing experience. This time it occurred to me how much Kurosawa locks you into the dialogue. If you miss even a little, an important part of the story is lost and the movie makes less sense. Yet it’s also a verbally dense film. It’s rare to see a script so lengthy yet so rich and absolutely critical for storytelling. Good art should force you to wrestle with it like this. love this movie so much.

You aren’t under obligation to respect the flag, but if you claim that’s something that matters to you, there are guidelines on how it can be used and displayed. My friend and colleague contacted me today to say Jordan Breen has died. What profoundly sad news this is. Breen was a truly brilliant man responsible for deepening the understanding and appreciation of MMA for an entire generation of fans. A unique person and original voice. There’s no one like him today. Those of us who knew him were very lucky. Life is so incredibly short.
