If you didn’t catch it yesterday, we have finally come to the conclusion of our three-part exploration into the extraordinary case of Ed Kemper, also known as the "Co-Ed Killer". We filled in the blank spaces with answers that could only come from the killer himself. Listen as we find out not only the details of his brutal crimes, as told during his confession, but his "why", which his willingness to divulge changed the way serial killers are profiled to this day.

Today, we are discussing the terror that swept across the city of Santa Cruz, California in the early 1970’s. Women were going missing and body parts were showing up in remote areas – leading investigators to believe they were dealing with a sophisticated serial killer. This episode will set the stage for what the feeling was in the community based on the information given, while the next two in this three part dive into Ed Kemper, also known as "The Co-Ed Killer", will fill in all of the horrific gaps that were given to the investigators by the killer himself. Today, we are discussing the tragic case of Lacey Fletcher, a 36-year-old woman from Slaughter, Louisiana, who struggled with severe social anxiety and autism. Over the years, her condition deteriorated to the point where she could no longer move from the living room couch. Instead of seeking help for their daughter's critical issues, her parents chose to ignore the situation, leading investigators to label it one of the most shocking cases of neglect they have ever seen.

Please be advised that this episode contains graphic descriptions of the unimaginable horrors Lacey endured, the shocking conditions in which she was found, and the chilling details revealed by her autopsy.
