INKLINE is an international media platform that features positive news (solution-focused, no fluff), interviews with go-getters championing sociocultural causes, stories of people living their purposes and chasing passions amid adversities, and various sources of inspiration (from book reviews to film insights) — all to show the diversity, beauty, and goodness of the world.
The entire Y-generation has been brought up on the core idea that the discovery of one’s passion ultimately leads to the fulfilment of life’s purpose; that we’re all bound to change the world in one way or another. But for all we know, how many of us do give chase? How many of us have been lucky enough to realise what our true passions are? And how many of us lucky ones have had the opportunity to turn our causes into reality? Easier said than done, right? That’s what we thought too.
INKLINE aspires to be a source of inspiration and motivation for both the lucky and not-so-lucky emerging adults (the scientifically correct term for the 20-somethings, apparently) out there in search of the worthwhile.
OUR STORY
It was one of them usual late morning coffee discussions, contemplating job rejections, unpaid internships and largely depressing world news. Like always the conversation took its pre-scripted turn to end on the same note — why not pool the diverse talent that sat around the table to do something worthwhile. Maybe it was something in the coffee that day, unlike ever before, and it was more than just one of us who wanted to make it happen. Now we put pen to paper for INKLINE.
THE TEAM
Aisiri Amin is a journalist specialising in social justice, gender issues and culture. She has written for The Hindu and worked as a freelance writer for websites such as Food ‘n’ Culture and Crave Bits. Social wallflower and an idealist at the core, she lives on books, tea and hope (in that particular order).
Julia Migné is a multimedia journalist and wildlife photographer specialising in environmental issues and odd hobbies. She has written for Africa Geographic and BBC Wildlife among others. An endless traveller, she swears that she would visit one country for each letter of the alphabet.
Nikhil Sreekandan is a journalist with the desire to explore life through the stories he chases; an engineer who realised the world of words to be his home. What started out as covering Manchester United for United Rant, journalism is now a full-time profession. When not lost in cinema, contemporary literature or his earphones, there’s a genuine attempt at ‘giving chase’, and the chase is beautiful.
Portia Ladrido is a multimedia journalist specialising in countercultures and social justice. She has written for Radio Times, Because London, Very Nearly Almost, The Metropolist, and other independent publications. She’s usually looking for new exhibitions to visit, new social media trends to try, new books to read, and new gummy bear flavours to munch on until she falls asleep.
