Jesus told stories!
Reading Christian books with your children is important. They are taking in so many conflicting viewpoints from the world around them that it's great to be able to read them a story where the Lord is God, where faith in the Lord Jesus Christ matters, where people pray and read the Bible.
These don't have to be dry subjects – they can be as alive, real, funny, scary and sad as any secular story, but with the enormous extra bonus of a spiritual perspective. Jesus told stories to get a spiritual message across; Christian stories can do the same.

Hope you have had a wonderful Christmas Eve! Here's an excerpt from Beech Bank Girls, Christmas is Coming by the amazing Eleanor Watkins (which you can read on kindle tonight if you wish!), from Willow's story:
