Just kidding, it's "Hey You" by Pink Floyd on Bandura! Modulation effect and overdubbed basses. The first bass note slide was achieved by tuning up the string as it was played!

Sound Escape 19 ✨️Another short experiment on Centore Bandura No.2 from his visit in September.

Dampened harmonics on the basses (with mechs on). This bandura really can do it all. Amazing job by Danylo crafting this instrument.

We had the joy of welcoming Centore Bandura and his new Poltava style bandura earlier this year. This is the second bandura Danylo has crafted, this one with a chromatic string setup and incredible tuning mechanisms!

Sound Escape 18 ✨️ played by Ivan. This clip lets you hear the beautiful sound of this instrument across all the octaves. Blend of microphone and the built-in pickup.

Sound Escape 17 ✨️
When this new Bandura made by Ken Bloom ended up in our home, we needed to record something on it!

The bandura was crafted using the parameters Hnat Khotkevych gives in "Бандура та її можливості" (Bandura and its possibilities) for string layout and tuning. This type of bandura was close to standard for his courses and was used by the Poltava Kapelia in the late 1920s. Thanks to Julian Kytasty for the history lesson and the opportunity to try out this bandura!

Two Galaxies is out! 🔈Sound On.

Two Galaxies is an original composition (2019) for two banduras by Ivan Dusanowskyj. In this recording, 1st bandura is playing in the right ear, while 2nd bandura is playing in the left ear to emphasize the interplay and weaving of the two parts. (A surprise 3rd bandura shows up at the end.) 🤫

Sung as a round at bandura camps all over North America! Played here as a round with two hands, Poltava style, plus a delay effect making four voices in total.

Bandura version of Sirius by The Alan Parsons Project (which I believe was some sort of hovercraft).

This song has been used at many sporting events, most notably as the intro song for the Chicago Bulls during their NBA Championship Run in the '90s.

Everything you hear (except for the drone at the beginning and the drums) is bandura! Delay effect and quick-damping technique on the main riff. Distortion on the hits.
