TEX-TREK Mission 337: STAR TREK: TAS's "The Practical Joker" Back-Trekking Retrospective

This week, we’re continuing our “Back-Trekking Retrospective” series by diving into TAS once again! Joining Fatheree and Taylor is Aaron Harvey, co-author of The Official Guide to Star Trek: The Animated Series. Together, the trio explore the episode “The Practical Joker,” a surprisingly influential entry that may contain the very first appearance of holodeck technology in Star Trek. With STRANGE NEW WORLDS Season 3 on the horizon—and trailers teasing a 23rd-century version of the holodeck—this TAS classic might be more relevant than ever. I'm sad to see S1 removed from Netflix. I'm glad I own the Blu-Rays but it is a shame it isn't streaming somewhere. I'm greatful we still get decent physical media releases for but I fear that too might become a thing of the past. Get 'em while you can!
