This is The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band song for iconic Star Trek actor LeVar Burton. The song is called "Are You Gonna Rise (for Levar)".

When we mixed this old fashioned piece -in the style of Guthrie and Seeger- on our Trident desk we immediately fell again into that genuine Americana vibe we met during our music tours in Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and, last but not least, Mississippi -where it all began.

Reverend also painted the image for the artwork. The song it's been inspired by a Podsongs episode featuring Levar Burton and Reverend Peyton and it's now available on all streaming services.

I PROTAGONISTI I
Quello che sorride sornione sulla sinistra è il mio produttore musicale. Evidentemente già aveva realizzato cosa stesse combinando.
È Maurizio Sarnicola , lo chef della Goldmine Records , quel luogo nel bel mezzo del Cilento in cui si cucina roba buona. La mia amica e cantautrice Denise Galdo stava producendo il suo album in quel covo di talenti e non ha potuto fare a meno di consigliarmelo, vedendomi alla disperata ricerca di qualcuno che abbracciasse il mio progetto, perché sí, avevo davvero bisogno di un abbraccio. Dalla prima telefonata Maurizio fu subito convincente, al primo incontro per me fu una folgorazione.
Portai con me tutti i testi e le bozze di tante canzoni, li rovesciai sul banco e cominciai a leggere e a mettere al corrente il buon Morris del tipo di farina che avevo nel mio sacco, attraverso l'ascolto di demo raffazzonate, . Abbiamo scelto insieme cosa mettere, cosa togliere, cosa aggiungere. Lui mi ha fatto capire con una sensibilità raffinata che sorta di impasto potevamo creare. Mi ha mostrato la sua cucina, le pentole, gli attrezzi, fino ai condimenti e alle spezie più ricercate.
Abbiamo creato un menù di 8 pietanze che grazie al palato sopraffino di Morris, sono diventati dei piatti stellati ai miei sensi. Abbiamo cucinato per ore e ore e fino all'impiattamento mi sono accorto del valore aggiunto che avevo apportato alla ricetta dei miei sogni, grazie alla scelta di varcare la soglia della Goldmine.
Grazie Morris, ti sarò Sempre grato per avermi dato l'opportunità di lasciare la mia umile firma nel panorama musicale pubblicando questo disco con un sapore che mi fa esplodere le papille gustative.
È ciò che più desideravo

Un disco al quale abbiamo lavorato con passione, dalla pre produzione agli arrangiamenti, dal mix al master. Un disco che ci appartiene molto e di cui andiamo particolarmente fieri.

Finalmente possiamo dirlo, oggi viene pubblicato "PIÙ DEI GIGANTI" del gigante Giorgio Adamo !

Una opera difficilmente classificabile ed in bilico tra musica d'autore e sperimentazione. L'esordio discografico per Giorgio, che viene dal mondo del teatro e che negli anni ha recitato e cantato, tra gli altri, con Anastacia (in We Will Rock You dei Queen) e Ted Neeley (in Jesus Christ Superstar).

this is EMA , a supercool musician based in Portland, Oregon. 🇺🇸

She has been featured on Pitchfork, Stereogum, NME, Rolling Stone and performed on KEXP and The Late Show with David Letterman. She made tours with Depeche Mode and Low - and her newest band Thrash Palace is out on SubPop.

We worked together on her new song Riane (Made for Love) inspired by a Podsongs conversation with scientist Riane Eisler on societal structures, gender politics, and the myths surrounding human nature.
