🛑 THE HIDDEN TRUTH ABOUT THE SHIRIKA PLAN 🛑
As refugees living in Kakuma and Kalobeyei, we are not just statistics or headlines—we are real people, and the Shirika Plan is not the solution it claims to be.
While the government calls it "integration," what we’re feeling is abandonment.
💔 Here’s our reality:
🥣 Food rations have been cut, leaving families to sleep hungry while we’re told to "be self-reliant" with no jobs or capital.
💧 Water is scarce, healthcare is overwhelmed, and education access is still unequal—yet we’re expected to survive as if we live in a city.
📜 We are not Kenyan citizens, yet they want us to function under Kenyan systems without clear protection of our refugee rights.
🤐 We were never consulted. Decisions are made for us, not with us.
Many of us feel that the Shirika Plan is just a silent closure of the camps, with no real plan for our future. We are being pushed out of humanitarian support, not lifted into dignity.
👥 We demand clarity, inclusion, and protection. We need: ✅ Transparent communication from UNHCR and the Kenyan government. ✅ A proper transition plan that respects our legal status. ✅ Investment in real opportunities before cutting essential aid.
🗣️ This is not just policy—it’s our lives.
