The historic Tutuban station is a treasure trove of memories, and here we travel back almost a century.

From an era of charm and grandeur before the Battle of Manila, rose Syquia Apartments - a residential edifice of stylish and affluent Manileńos built in the 1930s. This building stood the test of time and still sits quietly today at the center of bohemian Manila - the Malate district, once called home of famed Creatives, Intellectuals and Connoiseurs of Manila society. That era was the blossoming of the city's social and art scene. It was the Golden Age of the Paris of Asia, and this collection, while modern, had tailoring, silhouettes, fabrics, detailing, and cuts that hinted to the 1930s. This is a luxurious ode to that bygone time.

How does a well-established modelling agency celebrate its 10th year in style? A full event experience with fashion runway theatrics - a signature of Lumina Events Ph under the brilliant direction of Bernard Maybituin. That is exactly what we witnessed at the Main Event, the 10th Anniversary extravaganza of Main Models Philippines founded by Myk Labuguen a decade ago.

The well-attended one night extravaganza held at Whitespace in Makati city is arguably the best fashion spectacle befitting of a modelling agency that we have experienced in years. A roster of distinguished names in the world of fashion such as Jun Escario, Rian Fernandez, Jun Jun Ablaza, Neric Beltran, Nat Manilag, Vin Orias, Anthony Ramirez, Jo Rubio, Ryan Ablaza Uson, and Daniel Manila, gave the event a stamp of prestige. Of course, a class act of a fashion runway show is only established when a queen graces it. Hence, alongside Main's Class-A standard models, floated a vision - the iconic Filipina Supermodel Ria Bolivar, who was greeted with an applause. Completing the extravaganza was a song and dance performance by hearthrob Patrick Quiroz and of course Jona (formerly Jonalyn Viray) dubbed as "Asia's Fearless Diva" , who belted a mesmerizing operatic aria with a blazing display of bravura.

An after party capped that unforgettable evening which certainly became a talk of the town. This celebration of Main Model's milestone is undeniably one of this year's most impressive "Main Event!"

"Malayo na, Malayo pa" - a phrase which is true for dreamers who made significant progress over time, while still working hard to fulfill all their dreams.
Similarly, this young dynamic visionary who rose to fame as a Fashion Designer has definitely come a long way. But, he is not one to simply rest on his laurels while the future continues to unfold bigger and brighter things before his very eyes.

At the historic Tutuban train station, another FANTASY of his was FULFILLED. That place where he showcased his collection - beautiful pieces in luscious fabrics, lovely silhouettes and opulently beaded bodices which echoed his dreams in an unforgettable and one of a kind runway event, has now become one of his career highlights.

His train has fashionably arrived at Tutuban, but there will be more stations to go where greater opportunities await. There's no stopping him.

How would you react when you encounter strange looking freaks inside a train? The movie Train To Busan immediately comes to mind, but this is not it. No! This is a "Fashion Train to Tutuban".

Imagine this - loud shouts, banging on walls, faces filled with angst, seething with rage and seemingly dazed. The models stomped, ran, limped and swayed in strange erratic movements instead of sashaying. At first, the audience were shocked and perplexed, but they soon got themselves immersed in the bizaare scene.

It was a perfect spectacle of irony where dark tempestuous emotions were stirred, while eyes joyously feasted on the impeccable craftsmanship, sensuousness, glamour, and splurges of glitter and sumptuous detailing of the fashion collection.
This, of course, was still a fashion show. It was an intense spectacle like no other!
It was runway drama at its.. craziest.
And we loved it!
