EXERCISES IN FUTILITY 10 YEARS
NH receives frequently questions about when Mgla is playing live again or when new material is coming out. Like with all bands who are associated with NH, announcements are almost without exception done only when something happens. Other information is not meant for public and there is rarely, if ever, to create "hype" in advance.
Today Mgla celebrates 10 years anniversary of "Exercises in futility" album. You can read interesting story linked here, where they tell about one unpublished track that was left out of album simply that it will be perfect LP format. Extra track is by no means weaker material, but would have made album longer than fits on LP with good sound and balanced A & B sides.
Now you can hear this unreleased track online. Physical release is not priority, so when and if, will be announced later on. "Exercises in futility" LP/CD will remain as is and there is no special editions and bonus track versions planned.
Currently all Mgla LP and CD are available from NH, including also 3xLP and 2xCD live anthology release that was self-published by No Solace. Age of Excuse LP is running low in stock. Most band merch is best to get directly from No Solace.
Previously was announced that there is no mail being sent to USA at this point. This should be solved during September, so when next NH releases are published, shipping to USA should work again.
It is the 10th anniversary of the release of "Exercises in futility" CD today – an album that has turned out to be of profound importance for Mgła. Its creation involved almost complete isolation, with literally every part of the process being handled by ourselves.
What has not been revealed before is that the album was originally intended to consist of seven songs. During the album session, we recorded drums and guitars for all seven. Meanwhile, we decided that the album would work better as a compact, single-vinyl release, which required removing one of the tracks. Its further recording was therefore discarded, and the source material archived.
We revisited it a decade later for the album’s anniversary, arranging and recording bass and vocals in August 2025.

Physical release is not a priority. Might come later, next year maybe, once actual new things are taken care of.
