Mdina, ‘the Silent City,’ was actually the old capital of Malta before Valletta, and it still has that old-town vibe. It’s small, peaceful, and super easy to explore, and it’s only a 25-minute bus ride from Valletta.

You can wander around the narrow streets, hop on a horse-carriage tour, find tons of cute photo spots, and try the traditional rabbit stew at one of the local restaurants.

📌Save this for your trip to Malta! 🇲🇹

The one where I moved to a new country at 19?
The time I solo-traveled Thailand & Malaysia?
The day I got bit by a dog while alone in Bali?
The months I lived by myself in Portugal?
That solo hike in the jungles of Munduk with no signal and no one around, looking for waterfalls?
The moment I saw Cristiano Ronaldo play, and watched Beyoncé and Drake perform live?
The time I traveled more than 24 hours just to celebrate New Year’s at the Burj Khalifa?

Spent around 10 days road-tripping across Cyprus, and it was such a cool experience! Here’s my mini travel guide👇🏽

✈️ I landed in Paphos (one of two airports) and rented a car, definitely the easiest way to see the island. They drive on the left, which took a second to get used to but was fine after a while. Not super beginner-friendly though 😅

📍 Paphos (2 nights)
Explored the city and did a self-drive boat trip to the Blue Lagoon with Latchi Watersports, only 50 min away and honestly one of the most beautiful spots I’ve ever seen 💙 If you visit outside of summer, check out Adonis Baths Waterfalls (they were dry when I went because it was peak summer).

📍 Limassol (2 nights)
Tbh, this was my least favorite city. Beaches aren’t that great and there’s not much going on. If you’re short on time, you can skip it.

📍 Larnaca (5 nights)
Stayed here a few days great vibes, lots of restaurants and bars along the strip. From here I did day trips to:
👉 Nicosia, the capital, the city is literally split in half between the Greek and Turkish sides. You can walk across the border, just bring your ID. It’s such a unique experience to see both sides in one city.
👉 Ayia Napa & Protaras, which have the best beaches on the island. Think crystal-clear water, sea caves, and views that look straight out of a postcard.
Go to Cape Cavo Greco, Bridge of Love, and Fig Tree Bay, all amazing. I skipped Nissi Beach (lots of seaweed and algae when I went) but it’s super popular.

A lot of people rent quads to explore Ayia Napa & Protaras, looks really fun. Both have good nightlife: Ayia Napa is more party/adult-oriented, Protaras is more chill and family-friendly.

✈️ Flew back from Larnaca Airport, you can easily do the trip the other way around too.

🍴 Food spots I loved:
• Pingouino + Gyros of Crete (Paphos)
• Stoa Urban Kitchen + Red Pesto Bar (Limassol)
• Aldente Cucina Italiana + To Kafe Tis Chrysanthi’s (Larnaca)
• All American Grill (Protaras)
• Häagen-Dazs (Limassol & Larnaca)
Tried to go to Edem’s Yard in Larnaca but it was packed every day 😭
