𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆: Now that mating season is over, it’s much easier to watch (and film) the Columbia spotted frogs without the aid of a remote camera system. Granted, they’re not all that active—mostly just sunning themselves in the ponds—but it’s nice to be able to get up close!

𝗗𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗼𝘄𝘀? 'Rainblows' are true rainbows seen within the condensed water v***r that forms when whales exhale warm air from their blowholes. Just like with typical rainbows, the conditions and direction of sunlight need to line up perfectly to see the full color spectrum.

𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆: The wholesale “Inner Market” (jōnai-shijō) at the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo, Japan, was famous for its early morning tuna auctions. It was the largest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world with more than 1,500 tons of seafood exchanged daily. In 2018, after 83 years of operation (since 1935), it relocated to Toyosu Market. The “Outer Market” (jōgai-shijō) still exists at Tsukiji and remains a bustling location for wholesale and retail shopping and dining.
