62 years ago this week, Capitol rush-released this single, the first Beatles record made using four-track recording equipment, launching Beatlemania in the U.S. Then, two days after their TV debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, they played for 8,000 fans on Feb. 11, 1964 at their first American concert here in Washington, D.C., at the Coliseum. Watching Perry Mason this morning and look who showed up - two familiar charcter actors: Joseph Kerns (Mr. Wilson on Dennis the Menace) and Frank Ferguson who starred in numerous films, especially westerns… you never know who gonna pop up in old tv series…

There are a lot of songs to choose from in my archive room (and this is just 1 of 3 sections!) I’ll narrow it down on this weekends Goddard’s Gold to non Christmas hits from the month of December. Hope you’ll join me and see what I come up with…
Some sad news…
After 25 years, Goddard’s Gold will be coming to an end on December 31. The company that distributes my shows made the decision not to continue the association. After three months of trying to secure another distributor, I’ve come up dry and have to accept the fact this chapter will be closing. I don’t know where the next chapter will lead, but I will keep my 70s and Goddard‘s Gold pages active with weekly posts and any updates. With four shows left, I appreciate your continued support. Thanks a million and I’ll see you on the radio…
