This week we've posted Part 1, songs #101 to #76. It has taken me some time to get to this point, where I felt comfortable enough to do a DWD show without Dad. It's crazy to think that after nearly 700 shows, this is the first time I've ever uttered a word on this show without my father present. And from the first words out of my mouth, it felt different. I almost stumbled on the intro because of the palpable void. Pete, of course, made it much easier - and after a few seconds of disorientation, it all felt somewhat normal again. But boy did I miss hearing his "Hellloooo E'rrybody".
Yes, we pay tribute to my father throughout the segment(s) - pointing out the songs we knew he'd be raving about, or highlighting the artists that were nearest to his heart, maybe having some laughs at his expense, etc - but the other reason these next 4 shows will be so damn good is the music. In my heart, I know this will be the final Top 100 Doo W*p countdown I'll ever do. This is the final order, period. For Dad, for Pete, for me, and for all our friends listening - this is the definitive Top 101 Doow*p songs of all time, according to DooW*p Drive w/ Frank & Gregg.
Now... enjoy the journey to #1. We think you'll be surprised with how things broke out. But even so, there isn't a bad song to be found. Hell there aren't even any 'average' songs to be found. These are the best of the best, and now we present them for your enjoyment.
