Much love from us Idiots to Erie’s Weather King ENN John Stehlin and the Erie News Now weather team. It’s nice to know that the Stehlin Squad is out there putting hard work for long hours to keep us informed. I know we’ve all been affected by this storm, but the constant public meltdowns seen on social media make things worse for everyone. Instead, I believe we should celebrate those who are out there trying to help.

Just to let you all know, I am in a good place and happy with our teams work on the current storm. In a response to one of my post:

Should we keep our jobs? Absolutely. We did our best by informing viewers a week in advance that conditions were going to change significantly for holiday travel. We forecasted a week ahead that the atmosphere would shift, bringing cold air and winds into alignment, potentially leading to moderate to substantial snow.
When making a forecast, we consider several factors—like lake temperature, wind direction and speed, lake size, proximity, atmospheric stability, elevation, storm duration, snowband location, and other weather systems. While we're not always perfect, we take pride in preparing the public for events that could impact their lives.
We keep our jobs because we care. For example, over this holiday weekend, I spent more than 20 hours working on my days off, missing the BILLS/49ers game, just to ensure the public had the necessary information about the incoming storm. Both Dakota and Kelly came in over the weekend. We did this so people could make informed decisions about travel and prepare for any inconveniences.
I’m grateful for the trust the public places in us, and even appreciate the criticisms that come with such a public job. Yes, we missed the exact snow totals, but we did forecast moderate to substantial snow, a long-duration event, and travel impacts. I’m proud of our team! Welcome to Idiotville - Erie’s Favorite Podcast

We want you to be better, Erie. But you just keep screwing it up. Every time someone opens their mouth with a good idea, someone has to have a reason why not. That reason usually isn’t very well thought out, it usually involves thinly (or not so thinly) veiled racism. This town can move forward, but until we confront the demons that lurk here, we aren’t going anywhere.

If you don’t like what we’ve got to say, come at us with a good take. Think it all the way out. Our podcast is here to take political discourse in this city in a completely different direction.
