🗣️❤️ It’s Community Corner with Your Favorite Auntie! Today, we want to shout out local charities and organizations that are doing amazing work in the community.
🌟 Community Spotlight: LEAD Coalition of Bay County 🌟
The LEAD Coalition of Bay County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering historically underserved communities in Bay County, including Glenwood, Millville, and The Hill in St. Andrews. Their mission is to build trust, increase safety, and restore neighborhoods through collaborative efforts.
What They Do:
Street Outreach: Providing basic necessities and personal care items to local shelters, churches, and families. In 2023, they donated over $20,000 worth of in-kind donations to support those in need.
Health and Wellness: Offering COVID-19 and flu testing sites, as well as vaccination clinics, to ensure community health and safety.
Youth Development: Collaborating with Gulf Coast State College to provide after-school and summer programs for students and their families at Title I middle schools.
Business Development: Hosting workshops and events to support local entrepreneurs and small businesses, fostering economic growth in the community.
