Primarily Dr Turton is a scientist working at the interface between hard "science" and policy-making. His specialties are Industrial process optimization using artificial intelligence and machine learning, media spokesperson, water and economic development, water and social stability, policy options for water-constrainted corporations, management strategies for water constraints, governance and fiduciary oversight.

Benoît has in excess of thirty five years of environmental engineering experience concentrating on the Water, Waste Water, Waste and associated Energy fields serving all tiers of government, mining, utilities, SOE’s, automotive, Food & Beverage, Iron & Steel industries. His current focus is around the revitalisation of the South African water sector with a lead role in the Public Private Growth Initiative (PPGI), coupled with the co-founding role in the establishment of the South African Water Chamber. Both of these initiatives seek to engender water resilience and attract investment back into South Africa.
Prof Hamanth Kasan, PhD
Prof Hamanth Kasan, PhD, is the Vice President of the International Water Association and Honorary Professor at Centre for Water and Wastewater Research at Durban University of Technology.
He has over 30 years experience in water and sanitation services and served in various local and global advisory positions as well as being responsible for public health of 16 million consumers with Rand Water.
