AMX 50 120

Un prototype du char AMX 50. Développé au début des années 1950 sous l'influence de l'IS-3 et du T-10 soviétiques. Le char bénéficiait d'un blindage amélioré et d'un canon de 120mm dans une tourelle oscillante.

Le développement du Panzerjäger 1, un chasseur de chars allemand, a débuté en 1939 sur la base du Panzerkampfwagen 1 Ausf. B. À la base, le canon Pal 36 de 37 mm devait être installé sur le châssis du Panzerkampfwagen 1 Ausf. B. Cependant, au cours de l'invasion de la Pologne, il s'avéra que le canon était inefficace face aux nouveaux véhicules. Après la capture de la Tchecoslovaquie par l'Allemagne en 1940, le canon Pak 36(t) L/43.4 de 47 mm (Škoda 47-mm A-5 KP ÚV vz. 38 Model A5) fut installé sur le chasseur de chars. Un total de 202 véhicules a été produit et a participé aux combats jusqu'en 1943.

The development of Panzerjäger 1, a German chariot fighter, began in 1939 on the basis of the Panzerkampfwagen 1 Ausf. B. Le char LK 2 à été développé en Allemagne en 1918. Le véhicule a passé des essais et l'Allemagne à passé une commande de 1 000 chars. Toutefois, la commande n'a pas été honorée avant le début de la Première Guerre mondiale. En 1920, L'Allemagne a vendu 10 véhicule a LK 2 à la Suède, lesquels sont entrés en service sous le nom de Stridsvagen fm/21. De 1929 à 1932, les véhicules ont profité d'une modernisation en recevant de meilleurs moteurs et un renforcement du blindage frontal. Tous les véhicules modernisés ont reçu le nom de Stridsvagen m/21-29 ont été utilisés à des fins d'entraînement jusqu'en 1940.

M3 LEE

Le char M3 Lee est un char de combat de conception américaine utilisé par les Alliés au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Dans l'armée américaine, le M3 est appelé General Lee en l’honneur de Robert Lee, général confédéré de la guerre de Sécession. Adapté par le Royaume-Uni, qui le dote d’une tourelle modifiée, cette version est baptisée General Grant, du nom d'Ulysses Simpson Grant, le général nordiste vainqueur du précédent.

Le M3 était bien armé, bien protégé pour l’époque mais, étant une amélioration réalisée dans l’urgence et non un char nouveau, il possédait de grands défauts, comme sa haute silhouette, un mécanisme archaïque de stabilisation du canon principal, une efficacité limitée en tout-terrain, si bien qu’il fut retiré du service dès que le M4 Sherman devint disponible en grand nombre.

The M3 Lee tank is a US-designed battle tank used by the Allies during the Second World War. In the US military, the M3 is called General Lee in honor of Robert Lee, Confederate General of the American Civil War. Adapted by the United Kingdom, which has a modified turret, this version is named General Grant, named after Ulysses Simpson Grant, the northern general who won the previous one.
