🎉 Announcing Sid Sixty, our birthday project for Sid's 60th!

DETAILS
We are celebrating Alexander Siddig's 60th birthday with community service! Donate 60 minutes, 60 items, 60 dollars (or local currency) to a nonprofit community organization of your choosing in November, then send us the information at sidcity.net/sidsixty.

Mel will compile photos and info on a special section of the website and send it to Sid. He will also receive a note on his birthday (November 21) letting him know that his gift is in progress and will be ready in early December.

Please submit your community service contribution and an optional photo of your work at sidcity.net/sidsixty no later than December 1, 2025.

FAQ
Q. Can I submit something I contributed prior to the project announcement?
A. Yes! As long as your contribution occured during the month of November 2025, it counts!

Q. Does Sid have a preferred nonprofit I can contribute to?
A. Honestly, anything that aligns with his values fits the bill. We encourage you to think local where your contribution usually has the greatest impact.

Q. I don't have extra money to spare. Can I still participate?
A. Absolutely! Consider other ways to contribute - donating 60 minutes of your time, donating 60 items you no longer need to a local shelter or clothing/toy drive, etc.

Socialism, Star Trek, and Space with Dr. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein

During the TREKtivism panel at STLV (Trek to Las Vegas), Dr. Chanda Prescod-Weinstein raised the point that “Capitalism doesn’t exist in the Federation. And we can’t volunteer and fundraise ourself out of capitalism . We need to start thinking about system reform.” In this episode, we continue that conversation with Dr. Prescod-Weinstein ( our first ever repeat guest!) to talk about reforming our economic system, Star Trek’s depiction of an anti-capitalist future, and how the current for-profit space race is not the boldly going we asked for.

Join The Roddenberry Foundation and Roddenberry Entertainment for a special livestream discussion with Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) and Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh the Borg) to discuss what Star Trek teaches us about immigrants and belonging.

Jonathan Del Arco will share how his experience as a child immigrant from Uruguay and role in Star Trek inspired his new children's book, Freddy the Alien, co-written with WGA screenwriter and former teacher Trisha DiFazio.

Moderated by Roddenberry Ambassador Sabrina Cartan with an intro by Rod Roddenberry, this event will also include a conversation with Roddenberry grantees who are fighting for immigrants' rights at a time when anti-immigrant sentiments and ICE raids are tearing families apart. Fans will learn more about what's happening on the ground and how to help their immigrant neighbors during times of crisis.

Get your copy of Freddy the Alien and RSVP for free at the links in the comments below!
