🥇 LJ Rafael Yasay brings home GOLD for the Philippines! 🇵🇭🔥

20-year-old Muay Thai phenom LJ Rafael Yasay of Team Bagsik just delivered the first gold medal for the Philippines at the Asian Muay Thai Championships 2024 in Vietnam!

Yasay dominated Vietnam’s own Ly Dieu Phuoc in the U23 -51kg final with a commanding 30-27 win. 💪🇵🇭

Team Bagsik’s medal haul doesn’t stop there:
🥈 Rhichein Yosorez – Silver, U23 Female -45kg
🥈 Albert Pangsadan – Silver, U23 Male -48kg
🥉 Bronze medals also went to Yosorez and Pangsadan on Monday, while Ariel Lee Lampacan and Larstephen Cañedo added more bronze to the tally!

This isn’t Yasay’s first time on top — last year, he won two gold medals at the IFMA World Senior Muay Thai Championships in Patras, Greece. 🏆🌍

👏 Congrats to our Filipino warriors — showing the world that Team Philippines is a force in Muay Thai!

1st Mayor Dureza MMA at Guihing Gym in Hagonoy

THE 1st Mayor Jay Dureza Mixed Martial Arts Championship will be held on July 3 at 6 p.m. at the Guihing Gym in Hagonoy.

“Get ready for history in the making! Witness the first-ever MMA fight in our municipality,” said Mayor Jesus “Jay” Dureza Jr.

It is dubbed as the “MMA Fight Night” in celebration of the 72nd Araw ng Hagonoy.

Pitted in the main event are Japeth Reguinto of Rush Fitness Gym [Tagum City] against Maikel Sardanas of Bandera Muay Thai Camp [Davao City] in the flyweight division.

It will be a c0-main event featuring Ernie Escobia of Arkaibo [Davao City] against Mark Angelo Canja of MP Digos [Hagonoy].

Event organizer Kelly Odiong said that it is through the efforts of Boying Dureza.

“Ten other pairs will also be added,” said Odiong.

🥊 It’s been a while, but I got back into the groove holding mitts and Muay Thai pads today for my good friend David Salazar "The Combat Kid" at AQBJJ Minha Familia in Pharr, Texas! 🙌

I was a bit rusty, but we had a great session. Did some pad work, shadowboxing, and even worked the clinch—which reminded me my neck strength needs some serious work (heard it crack mid-clinch 😅). But man—it felt good to move again. 🔥

Much respect to Prof Adrian Quintanilla for the warm welcome. A humble instructor with the energy of a true warrior—leading a solid gym with a great culture.

The space is clean and has good mat room for rolling. Don’t expect a cage or ring— Nonetheless if you’re serious about training, this place has everything you need. It’s raw, focused, and real. 💯
