FRIDAY Sept 26th - FOOD BANK Distribution at Walnut Fire Dept. Volunteers including the WHS Football Team helped unload the 18-wheeler, repackage and hand out bags of groceries to the community. Over 450 individual families received Food!! The 🏈team and volunteers were fed a fried catfish lunch with sides and dessert. Items included canned vegetables, coffee, bread, produce, butter, and other items.

Sunday Sept 28th, 2025 - Today is his LAST DAY, as Manager of Fiesta Grill Mexican Restaurant in Ripley. JOSE GUZMAN age 26 has been Manager here for 4 1/2 years, He took over the location when previous manager Leo moved. Jose graduated from RHS and has been working for the Restaurant Chain for 13 years! His father also worked many years as a chef for the chain. Jose has 2 small boys and desires to spend more time with them before they grow up and less stress from the countless hours of managing a large restaurant. He will be perusing other career options and may or may not return to the restaurant business in the future. Jose appreciates his hard working employees and loyal customers over the years, and enjoys living in Tippah County, with no plans on leaving. Be sure and go by today and say good-bye.

Sept 27th 2025 - Look at this! OLE MISS, and MEMPHIS are still perfect and undefeated at (5-0) after today. Great Way to start off the 2025 NCAA 🏈 Football Season!! Southern Miss picked up an easy home win, unfortunately MISS STATE came up short in their Upset over ranked Tennesse having the lead with 2 minutes left in game only to lose in overtime, that being the Bulldogs 1st loss of the season. Do you see any of these local favorite teams making the playoffs? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

SATURDAY Sept 27, 2025 - FALKNER HERITAGE Event. Nice Day for an outside event. Food, Drinks, Music, Antique Cars, visiting the museum and learning a little history, sitting under the huge shade trees in the park area, socializing and enjoying talking to each other. One person won a $1,000 raffle !! Even if Falkner School does close down, the area is still nice and the school buildings could be converted into some really nice elderly assisted living apartments! Create jobs and nice facility ! Already have a cafeteria and walking track. Use the football field for a huge botanical garden! Glass half full! Look for positives over negatives. Huge money in Elderly Health Care! 🤔🤔

SATURDAY 🏈 Sept 27 - Like we said a couple weeks ago, that was the time to go get the whole “live stadium game” experience Cheap! Tickets are NOW Outrageous, for same experience only different opponents. OLE MISS plays LSU today at 2:30pm in Oxford. Cheapest nosebleed seat $150. MISS STATE plays Tennessee at 3:15pm in Starkville. Cheapest nosebleed $105. Southern Miss plays Jacksonville St at 6:00pm in Hattiesburg tickets still only $6 bucks ! Weather looks great today for traveling and some football; just expensive.
