"DESHLER, Ohio — Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America announced that it has terminated Pastor Christopher Walter's authorization to serve at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Deshler following his arrest earlier this week.

In a statement released on June 4, Bishop Daniel Beaudoin said the synod learned on Wednesday, June 3, that Walter had been arrested and charged with s*xual battery concerning a minor. The Bishop said Walter''s invitation to extended service through the United Methodist Church was terminated the very same day."

Christopher Walter was charged with s*xual battery involving a minor, leading to his termination from Immanuel Lutheran Church, according to church leaders.

"RENTON, Wash. - A former Renton, Washington youth pastor was arrested Wednesday, accused of child molestation and voyeurism involving a girl over the course of several years.

According to the Renton Police Department, detectives arrested Derek Nelson on Wednesday evening, as he was leaving work. Nelson used to be a youth pastor at Highlands Community Church, and was arrested on suspicion of second-degree child molestation and first-degree voyeurism.

Nelson is accused of molesting a 13-year-old in April 2015 and spying on a 17-year-old in February 2019. Both incidents occurred during church functions, police say."

"A former bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was charged with s*xually abusing minors in Livermore during the 1990s and early 2000s, authorities said.

On Thursday, Alameda County District Attorney Ursula Jones Dickson announced that Michael Delar Morris was arraigned Wednesday on 18 felony counts of non-forcible s*xual assault involving four separate victims. The alleged crimes happened approximately between 1991 and 2001 while Morris served as an LDS bishop in Livermore and supervised a church-affiliated boys' youth group, according to a press release.

According to the complaint, the charges include multiple counts of oral copulation of a person under 16, lewd acts upon a child, and s*xual pe*******on by a foreign object. The crimes allegedly took place at victims' homes, the defendant's home, and at the LDS church on Hillcrest Avenue in Livermore."

"Alan Chambers, the former president of Exodus International, an organization that promoted conversion therapies to LGBTQ individuals, has been arrested in an undercover child s*x sting, officials said. Chambers was arrested Tuesday and booked into the jail on charges of solicitation of a minor, transmission of harmful material to a minor, and unlawful use of a two way communication device. According to the arrest report, Chambers is accused of communicating with an undercover detective posing as a 14-year-old boy on social media, exchanging lewd messages, and plotting to meet."

"ZANESVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) — A Muskingum County pastor and former LifeWise teacher pleaded guilty to voyeurism and gross s*xual imposition this week.

Christopher Riggs, a recent pastor at Washington Township Baptist Church, was arrested Wednesday on one count of gross s*xual imposition and two counts of voyeurism.

According to court documents, Riggs had forced s*xual contact with a 14-year-old between June 1 and Sept. 23 of 2023, a fourth-degree felony.

According to Riggs’ LinkedIn, he is still a pastor at Washington Township Baptist Church, where he has worked since 2007.

A spokesperson for LifeWise confirmed Riggs had been a teacher with the LifeWise Tri-Valley program, but resigned in November 2025. Based in Hilliard, LifeWise provides biblical education to public school students during the school day off campus and with parent permission."

The documents outline allegations against Carlton Brown, a registered Level 3 s*x offender who investigators say failed to update required information tied to his registration, possessed fi****ms despite being prohibited from doing so, and maintained involvement with a church where children were present.

A Texas man was executed Thursday for killing his girlfriend’s 13-month-old daughter in a torturous ordeal the couple said was part of an “exorcism” to expel a demon from the child’s body.

Blaine Milam, 35, was pronounced dead at 6:40 p.m. following lethal injection at the state penitentiary in Huntsville. He was condemned for the December 2008 death of Amora Carson at his trailer in Rusk County in East Texas.

Asked if he wished to make a final statement, Milam thanked supporters as well as the prison chaplaincy for opening its faith-based programs to death row inmates."
