COVER REVEAL! 🎾👟
A note from the author, :
“Could I write a romantic comedy about tennis that gives readers butterflies (even those who have absolutely no interest in the sport?). That was the challenge I set myself when I came up with the idea for FORTY LOVE.
It’s about forty-something single mom Jules, who is persuaded to join a beleaguered women’s tennis team to take her mind off her daughter’s backpacking trip around Europe. What she hadn’t counted on was bumping into an old flame she thought she’d seen the last of thirty years earlier.
It’s first and foremost a love story, but it’s also a celebration of midlife, friendships, and prioritising the things in life that bring you joy.
In my own case, tennis definitely falls into that category. Until I hit my mid-forties, I’d never had a single lesson and the only racquet I picked up was to play Swingball with my kids. But when I gave it a go in 2019, I was instantly hooked. The tennis court became one of the few places where I could really switch off from work and worries, hone my resilience, get an adrenaline fix and simply have fun. I soon became a regular league player for our club’s women’s team and now I can’t imagine my life without it.
My heroine Jules has a similar experience, though in her case she has to overcome some of her internal demons first, alongside the added complication of some unwanted feelings about a man she never thought she’d see again.
Oh, and by the way—FORTY LOVE is a standalone novel, but for those readers who enjoyed my first midlife rom com, IT’S GETTING HOT IN HERE, you might be interested to know that this also features Lisa Darling, Jeff, Rose and Nora. (I just couldn’t resist bringing them back!)
I hope you love this gorgeous cover and the sound of the book. If you do, I’d be so grateful if you’d consider preordering or adding to your want to read shelf on .”
