Women's voices versus men's voices in 25 years of films winning the Academy Award for Best Picture.

This extreme imbalance in gender representation also extends to many other movies. A study of 122 family films by the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media found that only 29.2% of 5,554 speaking characters were female -- the same 3 to 1 male/female ratio that existed in 1946.
