Date: 21 /September 2025
Press Note
The Government of Telangana had earlier used “TS” as the state identification code. The Government has now officially changed it to “TG” and issued orders accordingly.
In line with these directions, Sri. C.V. Anand, IPS, Director General and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, has instructed that all Telangana State Police stickers on vehicles under the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate be removed and replaced with new “Telangana Police” stickers bearing the “TG” identification. All patrol vehicles and police station vehicles are to be refurbished with the new stickers.
Accordingly, the CAR Headquarters officials have made arrangements to remove the old “TS” stickers on a total of 188 government vehicles and replace them with the new “TG” stickers.
For this purpose, works worth about ₹1.6 crore have been undertaken. Apart from removing the old stickers and applying the new Telangana Police stickers, the vehicles were also given machine polishing. Wherever necessary, denting and painting of bumpers, doors, and panels was carried out to ensure that all vehicles remain in proper condition.
Today, under the instructions of Sri. C.V. Anand, IPS, DG and Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, the stickering process of 134 patrol vehicles was completed and these vehicles were re-commissioned by CAR Headquarters officials. These patrol vehicles will play a vital role in maintaining law and order in the city, preventing crime, ensuring rapid response during emergencies, and strengthening the police force.
Other vehicles under Hyderabad City Police — including Traffic ACP vehicles, Inspector vehicles, Pilot vehicles, and Interceptor vehicles — will also undergo the stickering process in the coming days and will be restored to full operational condition.
On this occasion, clear guidelines were issued to all vehicle drivers regarding keeping the vehicles clean and well-maintained.
Officials of the CAR Headquarters participated in this program.

He described congestion as both a quality-of-life issue and an economic challenge, highlighting initiatives such as:
● Operation ROPE (Removal of Obstructive Parking and Encroachments)
● Advanced signal management systems and VIP convoy coordination
● Drone and high-rise camera monitoring of traffic
● Collaboration with Google for AI-driven solutions
Deployment of 120 trained traffic marshals, funded by corporate partners like Apollo Hospitals

Sri Vikram Singh Mann, IPS, Additional CP, L&O, emphasized Hyderabad’s rapid urbanization and the need for multi-stakeholder participation—NGOs, industry, research, and citizens. He assured that suggestions from the summit would be recorded and acted upon, underscoring the summit’s importance as a working platform for reform.
Sri V. Rajashekhar Reddy, Joint Secretary, Traffic Forum HCSC, observed that Hyderabad’s growth has outpaced its mobility infrastructure. He flagged issues such as vehicles growing faster than road capacity, street parking choking lanes, and weak integration in public transport. He advocated for:
● Integrated urban mobility connecting Metro, RTC, shared mobility, and EVs
● Transit-oriented development to reduce dependence on private vehicles
● Smart traffic management with adaptive signals and AI
● Parking reforms with structured facilities and fair pricing
● Equitable infrastructure, including continuous footpaths, safe crossings, and cycle tracks
Sri D. Joel Davis, IPS, Joint CP Traffic, Hyderabad, concluded the summit by thanking participants and reaffirming the collective commitment to safer roads. He remarked:
