It feels like it was just yesterday I was eating Taco Bell at 2am at 32 weeks pregnant and went into early labor but that was actually nine years and four weeks ago. When I told the nurses in the high risk labor and delivery unit what I was doing, you should have seen their faces. And don’t worry, we know Taylor wrote Endgame just for you.

Let’s play a game “Why was Nicole’s heart rate so high?”
A. Because I just finished a morning run
B. My Pokémon Go notification.
C. I fed the pets dinner.
This is why I take a beta blocker every day. I have POTS but I also have IST or inappropriate sinus tachycardia. Which basically means my heart does not know how to calm down.

Not aesthetic. Not curated. Definitely not inspirational.

🛌: That big lump on my bed? My husband made a frame out of PVC piping to keep the blankets off my feet. They sell similar ones on Amazon for around $80, but this was cheaper — and honestly? Just as effective. Fabric hurts. Pressure hurts. This helps.

🧊: I stuffed two Squishmallows under the frame to block the airflow from the fan at the foot of the bed. Cold air makes my feet feel like they’re burning — and not in a poetic way.

💊: My nightstand is chaos. The heating pad is helping the pain in my back from my lumbar puncture and after 20 minutes I swap it to my neck because why would only one part of my body hurt at once. My JuJuBe Midi Backpack in Toki Retreat is on the floor because I didn’t have the energy to hang it back up.

Pain isn’t pretty. This is just
 life with a body that malfunctions. Hopefully in a few days I’ll have some more test results and be that much closer to a diagnosis.

This is why we can’t have nice things. Because my body is mostly broken.

I bought this String of Pearls a month ago. The tag said “easy care.” But nothing’s easy when your health is falling apart. I never repotted it — and it didn’t make it.

“Abnormal finding MRI Brain”
Next week I am scheduled to have a lumbar puncture. I am so close to a complete diagnosis that would finally allow for ALL of my symptoms to be treated. Some of the conditions I’m looking at don’t have a cure but there are medications and possibly physical therapy that could help me reclaim my body.

During my office makeover, I took the opportunity to really make this space mine. I hand painted the monstera leaves by tracing one of my leaf shaped pillows made by Once I was done, I realized that I could not stand looking at all of my shelves of nail polish. What shelves you ask? I built a custom fit canvas that hangs just above the top shelf and hides them completely. We bought our house in 2020 with the intent of only living here for a few years. The plan was always to move up North to New Hampshire. (Hence my username) All of the walls have been boring white for the last four years. Well, not anymore. I have completely redone my office which isn’t much of an office anymore as it is a plant room. It should come as no surprise that I’m not really focused on packing bags anymore after deleting my YouTube channel last year. So over the next few weeks you will some changes to this account. First off I hope to be posting more. But that won’t be focused on bags. It will be my plants, hobbies, and bringing awareness to my medical conditions. If you’ve been following me for a while and are no longer interested in the content that I’ll be posting, I fully understand. But if you stick around I’d love for you to see what I’ve been up to.
