Džiaugėmės esamomis Jungtinės Karalystės ir Vilniaus 🇬🇧🤝🇱🇹 partnerystėmis bei ryšiais ir atradome daug naujų galimybių bendradarbiavimui ateityje! Vilniui – jau 702 metai, tačiau jis šiandien - žalias, labai dinamiškas, ambicingas ir tikrai jaunas širdyje. Mums labai malonu vadinti jį savo “namais toli nuo namų”! 💪💚

🇬🇧 | Today Ambassador Liz Boyles met with Valdas Benkunskas, the Mayor of Vilnius City Municipality. 🌟 They had a great discussion of shared interests on community integration and social cohesion (shoutout to British Council Lithuania and their partners for their great work on this), tourism, infrastructure and transport projects (among which at least a couple designs were won by world-renowned British architectural firm Zaha Hadid Architects) and education. We’ve rejoiced about the ongoing UK-Vilnius 🇬🇧🤝🇱🇹 partnerships and connections and discovered plenty of opportunities for future cooperation! Vilnius is 702 years old, but it’s green, very dynamic, ambitious and definitely young at heart. It’s our pleasure to call it our “home away from home”! 💪💚

"The complex of Lithuanian schools in Punskas, Poland has multiple monuments. One 5,1 m tall by Algimantas Sakalauskas was dedicated in 2000 to the 400th anniversary of the schools in Punskas (the metal cross on its top was built by Romas Karpavičius). Two others were built by the 52nd (2011) and 57th generations of the Lyceum. The square between schools has a Cross of Vytis composition. The complex also has dormitories as the Lyceum is partly a boarding school, with some Lithuanians who live further away in Poland also sending their children here to get them an education in Lithuanian.
