MOVIE REVIEW: Hoppers

My first full-on favorite of 2026. So much good is happening in this movie, and it's a rare one that has its cake, eats a slice, then shares it with the rest of us, as far as being a morality lesson, carrying a heavy environmental message, and being a completely entertaining and fun movie about friendship.

If you're in the UK, this movie just came out on Friday. THE SPIN (https://dcfilmdom.com/2026/02/the-spin-movie-review/) is a subtle, heartwarming, gentle gem. No US release date as yet, but if you find it, go for it.

Director Nia DaCosta and writer Alex Garland are a duo that NEEDS to work together again. This chapter in the series attempts so much with its emotion, horror, and social commentary, and it hits every mark. Probably the best of the series since the original.

I was seven years away from being a movie reviewer when KILL BILL VOL. 1 made its stateside bow. Consider this a long overdue love letter to KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR. Y'all, they're showing it in 35mm and 70mm. Go check it out and do some pushups at the intermission.
