If, like me, you love Portuguese fado music then here's a chance to actually hear some live in Brumtown in a few days time! Award winning fado singer Duarte will be at the Mac, Cannon Hill Park on Friday 28th April (7.30pm). From playful and joyous songs to achingly, yearningly nostalgic expositions of the heart, fado encompasses the soul and passion of this maritime Atlantic nation on the edge of Europe. It's not often to get a chance to hear this kind of music live in the UK so I'll definitely be there on Friday soaking it all up as part of my newfound 2023 "F*ckCancer-LiveLife" ambition.
