Ghana Nhoma Chapter 6:2 — The Strong Shall Become Weak
And it came to pass that a certain RICH MAN, who once dwelt in the land of Israel but now made his abode in Kumasi, by name Wontumi, was arrested by King John the Second because of his grievous deeds during the reign of King AddoChadnezar.
During the days of AddoChadnezar, Wontumi walked proudly in his own strength and did whatsoever pleased him. He defiled the rivers, laid waste to the forests, and dug out the gold of the land with no regard for the people thereof. Yea, he destroyed the water bodies and caused sorrow in the hearts of Ghanaians.
Verse 10: The Return of the King
Lo and behold, the reign of AddoChadnezar was brought to an end, and King John the Second returned to power in great glory after a fierce battle between the Elephant and the Umbrella. And it came to pass that in this battle, King John and his army prevailed mightily over Bawu, the son of AddoChadnezar, who had purposed in his heart to build a temple unto God but ended up creating a mere swimming pool.
Verse 15: The Judgment of Wontumi
After much inquiry and the uncovering of evil deeds, King John the Second commanded his mighty men to go forth and seize Wontumi. And they laid hands on him and brought him before the courts. And lo, he was cast into prison under a bail condition of Fifty Million pieces of silver, yet he could not redeem himself—for his strength had failed him and his riches availed him not.
Verse 20: Salvation from the Mountain
And I lifted up mine eyes and beheld, and a voice cried out from the sacred Odweanoma Mountains, saying, “Whom shall I deliver? Who among you shall receive help in this hour?” And the mountains grew silent, and the trees of Abetifi whispered among themselves. Then suddenly, I beheld a tall and mighty man—thick of stature and firm of face—named Bryan Acheampong, descending from the heights. And he came to the aid of Wontumi.
Verse 25: The Weakening of the Mighty
And it came to pass, after many days, that Wontumi was released from prison—and behold, he was very weak.
