I’ve been thinking a lot about how our home can better support our actual life - not an ideal one. Small shifts have made a big difference lately: a better-placed laundry hamper, fewer shoes overall, simpler systems that actually work for our family.

It’s not about doing things “the right way,” just the way that makes our days feel easier and more livable. Little changes really do add up to more time, more peace, and a home that works with us instead of against us.

This tip is about discovering the path of least resistance. What do I mean?

For example:
- Have you ever felt like something was wrong between you and a friend and then spent the entire/day night fretting INSTEAD of simply asking if everything is okay?
- Have you ever struggled with a computer issue, making phone calls to the tech center, staying on hold for an hour INSTEAD of simply restarting your router?
- Have you ever been nervous to find a babysitter...without making a quick call to check and see if a family member can help?

Get into the habit of asking yourself: what would this look like if I made the solution easy? The simple answer won’t always fix the problem but it’s worth preserving energy from overcomplicating the issue.

Today’s guest explores how our minds search for certainty in an increasingly chaotic world - and how that instinct can quietly shape our beliefs, decisions, and sense of self.

bestselling author and linguist joins us to discuss her latest book, The Age of Magical Overthinking, where she unpacks how cognitive biases and modern “magical thinking” influence everything from wellness culture to productivity and spirituality.

In this conversation, we talk about why our brains crave certainty, how ideas like manifestation and hustle culture can become emotional shortcuts, and how building awareness - rather than striving for perfection - can lead to clearer thinking, more intentional living, and greater peace amid the mental noise.

Comment the word MAGICAL and I’ll send the episode directly to your inbox. 🎧

The cost(s) of clutter far outweighs the effort it takes to begin to process. It’s simple but not easy...but so start. Don’t let sentimentality get in your way. Slow wins as you build momentum in the process.

Start the year on your own terms.

Gosh. This quote speaks for itself. 👏

"A beautiful life is not one that is immediately comfortable, but one grown through the acknowledgement of what is worth being uncomfortable for. it is not one that is easy, it is one that is worth it."

Still using this method to create ideas for outfits. Makes getting ready so much easier.
