LOOK | Rev. Fr. Randy Leonardo led the Ash Wednesday Mass today, March 5, 2025. In his homily, he spoke about the meaning of the ashes, reminding the faithful that life is temporary and that all will eventually return to dust. He encouraged everyone to embrace this season of self-sacrifice, and prayed using it to deepen their faith and live with purpose.

Josenians receive ashes on their foreheads as a symbol of humility, repentance, and reminder of life’s impermanent nature. This day marks the beginning of the 40-day Lenten season, a time for reflection, good deed, and preparing their hearts and minds for Easter, which commemorates Christ’s resurrection.

𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘’𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀𝗹𝗮𝗼, 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝗦𝗟𝗚 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘅𝘆

The Compassionate and Accountable Leaders that Value Resiliency and Excellence (CARE) Party dominated Halalan 2025, securing all SSLG positions for SY 2025–2026, with former Grade 11 Rep. Maicah Wenceslao elected President on February 28.

Tallying 353 votes, the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) student of Grade 11 - St. Thomas the Apostle topped the board, leading over Calix Mariano of Grade 11 - St. Patrick who counted 188 votes, leaving a 165 gap.

Wenceslao will be accompanied by her Vice President, Lhord Patrick Navarro, alongside the newly-appointed officers from the CARE Party, namely; Jyrus Ken Pre as Secretary, Nherinhelle Silvestre as Treasurer, Sean Matthew Agag as Auditor, Xandy Maricar De Jesus as Public Information Officer and Quincy Keith Baldueza as Protocol Officer.

On the other hand, the set will be joined by the respective Grade Level Representatives; Remielle Say Del Rosario for Grade 12, Jann Kailey Lozano for Grade 11, Graciella Idian for Grade 10, Martin Jeremiah Santos for Grade 9, Mikyle Estrada for Grade 8, and Yuna Louise Reyes for Grade 7.

As said in their team’s tagline, “We’re Here Because We Care,” the elected members promise to embark on a journey of empowerment, unity, inclusivity, and progress in their term as the new heads of the Student Council.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Elementary Learners Government (SELG) will be led by the newly-elected President, Jhon Gabriel Maravilla and Ivhonne Levy Castillo as Vice President.
