Summer has a way of slowing us down...
Sometimes that's exactly when God speaks the loudest.

As I've shared throughout this Summer Strong journey, I'm intentionally pursuing more health, more joy, more purpose, more impact, and more life as I step into The Summer I Turn 59.

We often fill summer with vacations, projects, road trips, family gatherings, and all the things we've been waiting for warmer weather to enjoy. But what if this was also the summer you caught up with God?

What if, somewhere between the morning coffee on the deck, the long evenings, the sound of birds in the trees, and a few slower afternoons, you made room to hear what He has been whispering to your heart?

That's one of the reasons I wrote Walking in the Wake of the Holy Spirit: Living an Ordinary Life with an Extraordinary God.

This book isn't about becoming someone extraordinary. It's about discovering what our extraordinary God can do through ordinary people who simply say yes.

Throughout these pages, I share some of the beautiful moments, difficult seasons, unexpected assignments, and remarkable ways God has led me when I chose to follow the movement of the Holy Spirit—even when I didn't know where He was taking me.

My hope is that you won't simply read my story.

My prayer is that you'll begin recognizing His hand in your own.

Maybe you'll remember the prayers He has already answered, notice the places where He has quietly carried you, or feel a fresh stirring toward something He's been inviting you to do.

Because your ordinary life, placed in the hands of an extraordinary God, can become more beautiful and impactful than you ever imagined.

More peace. More joy. More impact. More life.
A book can become a resource that helps you live all of it.

As I've shared throughout this Summer Strong journey, I'm intentionally pursuing more health, more joy, more purpose, more impact, and more life as I step into The Summer I Turn 59.

As I've been writing my next book, I've been thinking about something I say all the time... "A book is never just a book." It's actually a resource.

A resource that continues encouraging people long after you've gone home for the day. A resource that opens conversations you may never have had otherwise. A resource that can create new opportunities, build a business, strengthen a ministry, leave a legacy, and help someone else take their very next step.

That's why I love helping people write books.

And, NO - not everyone needs to become an author, but because every one of us has experiences, wisdom, and God-given lessons that were never meant to stop with us.

One of the beautiful things about creating a resource is that it allows my life to multiply. I can only be in one place at one time. My book can be anywhere.

It can encourage someone while I am sleeping, inspire someone I will never meet, and remind a stranger on the other side of the world that they're not walking alone.

To me, that's part of living a life of INCREASE. It's not because I'm trying to do more or put more on my plate.

But because what God has done in me now has the opportunity to keep serving others.

I'd love to ask you something today... Have you ever thought, "Maybe my story could help someone else"?

There are some books help call you BACK to yourself, and today I would absolutely love to celebrate author Kebonemorena Nthite and her powerful book, I Am More Than Enough. 💛

I think so many women are going to see themselves somewhere inside these pages because let’s be honest, there are seasons in life where people become exhausted trying to live up to expectations, chasing what they think success is supposed to look like, comparing themselves to others, and slowly losing sight of who they really are in the process.

That is why the message of this book matters so much.

Kebonemorena vulnerably shares her own journey of trying to build a life around what she believed she “should” become, only to realize that somewhere along the way, she had disconnected from her authentic self, her purpose, and the calling God had placed on her life. I think many people are going to deeply relate to that struggle.

What I really appreciate about this message is that it does not leave people sitting in discouragement or self-doubt. This book is an invitation to RESHAPE, RESET, and REPOSITION your life so you can begin walking confidently in who God actually created you to be. That is powerful.

I believe one of the greatest gifts a person can give the world is their authentic self. Not the version trying to please everyone else. Not the version striving to fit expectations. But the person God uniquely designed them to be from the very beginning.

Can I tell you something I have noticed after helping thousands of people become published authors? 💛 I mean seriously, this is something that is still coming up from my coaching students.

Many of them think they need more confidence before they write their book, when really, what they need is more clarity.

Confidence usually comes AFTER you begin moving.

I cannot even count how many times I have watched a woman sit down completely overwhelmed because she has so many ideas in her head, so many stories she could tell, so many lessons she has learned, and so many things she wants to help people through that she honestly does not know where to begin. (I know I must sound like a broken record right now ... but this is VERY big!)

Then something shifts.

Suddenly the RIGHT message starts becoming clear. The pieces begin fitting together. The direction starts making sense. The title begins forming. The chapters start unfolding naturally. And what felt overwhelming before suddenly feels possible. It only takes a few minutes of clarity when you start with a writing formula. (One day, I will share mine with you... but I digress.)

That is a such powerful moment to witness. The light bulbs coming on and I GET to watch the Lord reveal the path to them. (*sigh, how I love that God let's me witness this!)

I know this why so many soon to be authors stay stuck for years. They keep waiting for confidence to magically arrive before they begin, when many times clarity is the very thing that creates the confidence they have been looking for all along.

Oh,oh oh!... this is important too... clarity does not mean you have every detail figured out. It simply means you finally understand the assignment of THAT book.

That changes everything don't you think?

There is something so incredibly special about children’s books that point young hearts toward wonder, truth, faith, and the beauty of God’s creation, and today I would absolutely LOVE to celebrate author Kristine Riley and the her second book in her beautiful children’s series, Henrietta’s Garden. 🦋💛

Honestly, the moment I read through this story, I could immediately picture children curling up with this book and being completely drawn into Henrietta’s world. There is such a gentle sweetness woven through these pages as Henrietta, an elegant Monarch butterfly, explores the world around her with curiosity, wonder, and a heart ready to discover more about God’s magnificent creation.

What I really love about this story is that it is not simply cute and entertaining, although it absolutely is charming. Kristine beautifully weaves deeper life lessons throughout the journey as Henrietta encounters friendship, fear, loneliness, prayer, purpose, and the unfolding plans of God in ways children can truly understand and connect with.

And can we just talk about how important THAT is right now?

Books like this help plant seeds of faith, imagination, comfort, and truth into the hearts of children while creating beautiful moments of connection between families as they read together. I truly believe stories like these matter deeply because they help children see the world through wonder instead of fear and remind them that God is present in every part of their journey.

Kristine, thank you for saying YES to your the message on your heart for children and for creating stories that are helping them and families experience faith, adventure, comfort, and truth together. The world needs more books like this. 💛 The fact that you continue to write about Henrietta's adventures is a true testament to God's leading in your life.

Can I ask you something? 💛
What book has been sitting on your heart for years that you still have not written?

Today, I was speaking to leaders who walk in business and ministry. The room was full of those who have been carrying a message around for a LONG time. Some have notebooks full of ideas. Some have titles already picked out. Some have stories they know could help people. Some even started writing years ago and stopped somewhere along the way because life got busy, confidence got shaken, or they simply became overwhelmed and did not know where to go next.

And then there were others who keep thinking, “One day I will write that book,” while years keep passing by.

I understand that more than you know.

But I also know this... there usually comes a point where the message inside of you refuses to stay tucked away anymore. You start realizing it is not just “an idea.” There is something deeper connected to it. People need what you have lived, learned, survived, built, or overcome.

That is why I care so much about helping you uncover the RIGHT message and finally move forward with it. I won't pressure you or push you strive forward. But we walk in a clear, intentional, grace-filled way where you can stop circling the idea and finally begin building it.

One of the beautiful things about books is that they meet people right in the middle of real life, and today I would love to celebrate author Barbara Lott and her encouraging devotional, Cry, Laugh, Love, Refresh!: A 91 Day Devotional. 💛

I think so many women are going to relate to this message because let’s be honest... life CAN feel messy sometimes. There is the constant balancing act of everyday responsibilities, unexpected detours, emotional seasons, challenges, disappointments, and moments where you are trying to hold everything together while still longing to experience peace, joy, and closeness with God in the middle of it all.

That is what I love about Barbara’s heart in this devotional. She does not approach life pretending everything is polished and perfect. Instead, she gently walks alongside the reader and reminds them that God is present right in the middle of the everyday moments, the hard moments, the funny moments, the overwhelming moments, and even the moments where we feel stuck, weary, or unsure of ourselves.

I also really appreciate how practical and encouraging this devotional is. Barbara not only points people toward healing and freedom from things like shame, unworthiness, and feeling unable to cope, but she also challenges readers to go deeper in their walk with God and experience the abundant life He truly has for them.

And honestly, I think there is something really special about a devotional that helps people feel refreshed again. We all need that sometimes.

I really believe that with all my heart.

I think one of the biggest lies women believe is that the hardest parts of their life somehow disqualify them from being used by God in a greater way, when many times those very experiences become the foundation of the message He wants them to carry and share with other people.

I cannot even tell you how many times I have watched women take seasons of heartbreak, loss, financial struggle, rejection, health battles, fear, insecurity, divorce, addiction, or disappointment and eventually realize that God was not wasting any of it. In fact, some of the most powerful books I have ever helped women write came out of the very seasons they once wished never happened.

That is why I always say your history is HIS-story. God wastes nothing.

I know this is where so many women miss the significance of their own story. They think because it felt ordinary to them, it could not possibly carry value for someone else, when in reality, the very thing they survived may become the roadmap another woman desperately needs.

But ... that is the very real platform God will use as his launching post.

One of my greatest joys is watching authors step boldly into the message God placed inside of them, and today I would love to celebrate author Julie Thiessen and her powerful book, Found: Stolen Identity: Equipping the Army of God. 💛

This is not simply a book about “feeling better about yourself.” Julie tackles something much deeper and so incredibly important right now... identity.

Who are you REALLY?

Do you know who God created you to be?

Do you understand the authority, purpose, gifts, and calling attached to your identity in Christ?

And maybe even more importantly... have pieces of your identity been stolen through fear, trauma, lies, insecurity, disappointment, comparison, or spiritual battle?

These are powerful questions, and Julie approaches them with the heart of someone who truly desires to equip and strengthen believers for the days ahead.

One thing I really appreciate about this message is that it does not leave people wandering around inspired without direction. It calls believers higher. Stronger. Deeper. It reminds us that as members of the Army of God, we are not meant to live disconnected from who we are in Christ. Identity impacts everything... how we lead, how we serve, how we fight spiritually, how we use our gifts, and how we fulfill the assignment God has given us.

I also love the picture Julie paints of believers being equipped and prepared like an army ready for deployment. There is such a strong sense of purpose woven through this message, and I know this book is going to encourage many people who are ready to reclaim their identity and walk boldly in what God has called them to do.
