As I wandered aimlessly, roaming the world, Mistaking disgrace for glory and piling it on, When I deserved death for the abundance of my sin, You multiplied Your grace, and I lived. Today I stand before You, singing with my mouth, I will tell of Your mighty deeds, how You saved the lost. My Lord, may Your name be exalted in all worlds, Truly, there is nothing else to repay You with.
The path I found You on was straightened, You guided me with Your hands on the way of life. Your counsel makes one a person, Your word is a balm, Your love is like dew that justifies the dry.
That which knew no moisture, withered in drought, A life that was desiccated from the bones, From my very creation, I was a desert olive tree, I found a refuge in a good place. To make the proud jealous, He chose the humble, He lifted me from disgrace and placed me in His glory. Planted in Him, in the good vine, I found my flourishing; may He be exalted forever.
