The death has occurred of Kabba Obaje in Idah. Kabba was the eldest child of Ali Obaje who reigned as Attah of Igala from 1956 to 2012, a period of 56 years being the longest serving Attah of Igala known to history. People have attributed his longevity to the fact that he did not undertake the necessary rituals before emerging as Attah of Igala.

Kabba has been battling with an undisclosed ailment for several years now and this has made him not to appear in public functions.

It will be recalled that Kabba applied for the stool of Attah of Igala alongside Alaji Mathew Opaluwa in 2021 but could not appear before the panel in person owing to his deteriorating health.

Kabba will be remembered for being very gentle and accommodating throughout his 56 years of being the first Igala Prince.

OBITUARY

Justice Daniel Danshofo Abutu has died.

Abutu, a native of Abocho who is more identified with Idah was a federal judicial officer who rose to become Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in September, 2009 under the Yar'adua administration.

One of the most famous cases presided over by Abutu was the case against the sick president Yar'adua that sought to declare the office of the president vacant.

Abutu will be remembered for opening his houses in Ikoyi Lagos and Asokoro Abuja to Igala sons and daughters to live without being his relative or even known to him.

In what appears like a scripted video, another "native doctor" and acclaimed spiritualist from Igalamela Odolu LGA has received an SUV from three young men as reward for doing good work (charm) for them.

The men with earrings and dreadlocks are said to have come from far to patronize the native doctor and they have now met their spiritual expectations, hence the need to reward him with an SUV.
