✨Meet Des Flanagan.
Des, this beautiful soul is new to me...
"Des, after seeing this -- you are Perfect for Christian (lead role) in the (Moulin Rouge) musical, for me..." -- Masters...
As a working actor, I often do the side-door, pay my respect to the cast & connect in with fellow artists.
It was an absolute honour, pleasure, and privilege to meet Des, and it was felt both ways.
When we met, straight up I shared our connection points:
We both trained at the VCA - Des graduated with a BA in Fine Arts (Musical Theatre), both did West Side Story -- my first musical as a lead (I played Action, the next leader of the Jets)...
Des played in West Side Story for Handa Opera on Sydney Harbour.
I confided in Des how I'm audition for H******n for a name part...
And something special about Artists and actors seeing the Best in each other...
When we left, he said, "I'll see you in the main part!" -- with absolute confidence I'll land the part. ✨🤍😌🙏
I looked at him quietly, no words needed but we communicated.
He adjusted his words, "Best of luck with the audition!"
I beamed back at the correction!
..and I'll cherish + hold onto the moment that Des has full confidence and faith that I will land the role, my future role & Everest, of A**** B***.
