Pope, originally from Chicago, and Oji, from New York, met in Baltimore at Morgan State University. They discovered that although they were from different places, they had both shared the same dreams musically. It was on that day that a friendship and what would soon become a brotherhood bond that could never be broken was formed. Having experienced many of the politics that are evident in the ind
ustry and often feeling isolated in their own environment; these two "Brothers in the Struggle" quickly adapted the methodology that "time waits for no one". If it were to be done and most importantly done correctly, they would have to do it themselves. With that spirit and mentality, the duo established POJI Records back in '93."
