Temple Music Radio, or TMR, is the newest addition to Zen Compound, which is located in the SOMA district of San Francisco and most known for the country’s first green nightclub, Temple. A multifaceted business, the Zen Compound is also home to a Ki Sushi, a sustainable sushi and izakaya bar, and the offices of Temple Music Group (TMG), with recording studios, an art gallery and record store in th
e works. TMR is here to help share the vision, the progress and the sounds of the Zen Compound. TMR is a community outreach and meeting place for DJs and producers in the Bay Area. For up-and-coming DJs, doing a show on the radio station is a great way to get exposure and potentially land a spot playing at the nightclub. For seasoned veterans, TMR provides a place for fans to tune in, talk about music and share ideas. At TMR, DJs have complete creative freedom– some spend the entire time showing off their skills on the decks, while others choose to use part of the show to talk about their music and answer questions. We broadcast live from our street front studio with a complete DJ booth. AS both an online radio station and physical space within Ki Sushi, TMR bridges the gap between online radio and venue. Once known as ZenCompoundFM, Temple Music Radio is the newest incarnation of radio at Temple SF. with a grip of talented artists providing content our shows including Cold Blank, Irie Cartel Crew, Haydn Hoffman, Moldover, Electric Soulside, DJ Fame, Doc Martin, Paul Hemming, Jaswho?, Bentley Foy, Epoch and Manics. TMR is located in the window front of Temple Nightclub. While playing, DJs have a unique view of bustling Howard Street. From the street, pedestrians can listen to the music on outdoor speakers. Equipment-wise, the station is set up like a mini nightclub– complete with a Pioneer 800, two Pioneer CDJ 1000mk3s, two Technic turntables and a Serato box, along with plenty of space for computers, MIDI controllers or other additional equipment.
