Campus journalists and school paper advisers from District 6 will gather tomorrow, August 25, at Ismael Mathay Sr. High School for the 1st Congressional District 6 Secondary Schools Campus Journalism Olympiad.

About 500 young journalists are expected to participate and showcase their skills across 10 individual categories: News Writing, Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, Column Writing, Science Writing, Sports Writing, Copyreading and Headline Writing, Photojournalism, Editorial Cartooning, and Mobile Journalism.

Winners will be announced on the same day based on the evaluation of the judges who come from the mainstream media, the academe, and the community of former campus journalists who have excelled in their respective categories.

STILL PROUD OF YOU | Mathay Cagers' Cinderella Run Ends in Semifinal Heartbreak

The Ismael Mathay Sr. High School Cagers' dream of a championship ended in a tough semifinal loss to New Era High School on August 17, despite a strong showing in the Quezon City-Wide Schools Division Cup District 6 eliminations.

After a stellar 5-1 run, the Cagers couldn't overcome New Era's defense, dashing their hopes of advancing to the finals.

Despite the abrupt end, IMSHS still sends its sincere congratulations to the players and coaching staff for their hard work and effort in bannering the school's colors in the world of basketball.
