Risan Studies Multi-Media Basecamp

Risan Studies elevates high school and college student communities with global perspectives through nuanced multi-media educational programs centered around environmental studies and climate change.

Paired with film screenings and Q&A discussions, Risan Studies sets up multi-media basecamp with adventurous glaciological research methodologies, renewable energy case studies and sustainability.

The Cresta Alta Film has been engaging audiences throughout the US with arts councils, colleges, high schools and museums with Risan Media‘s expedition-based climate change documentary film that chronicles a journey to Alaska, Iceland, Chile and Peru to document glaciological research expeditions and sustainability.

The screenings are followed by a Q&A with environmental filmmaker and socially-conscious musician, Todd Anders Johnson, who studied development issues at the University of Washington. With a foundational perspective that more sustainable policies are imperative and that the there are effective renewable and sustainable options to employ regionally, nationally and globally, Todd has dedicated himself to the arts in creating entertaining and educational film, music and events.

We’re honored to share that the Adam Palmer Sustainability Fund has partnered with Risan Media to begin production on a short film celebrating Adam’s life, the legacy he left behind, and the impact he continues to have on the road to NZ2030.

Directed by environmental filmmaker and educator Todd Anders Johnson, whose past work includes the global climate documentary Cresta Alta, this project is just beginning to take shape—but the heart behind it is already clear.

Adam’s story reminds us that one life can ripple out in powerful ways. We’re excited to begin telling that story.
