If you love old Land Rovers, the kind that smell faintly of wet dog even on a dry day, you’ll know Tati Reed, aka .

She’s driven, fixed and coaxed her Series truck across more miles than most would dare and she’s a Ti contributor.

A brief comment left by on today’s piece by Andrew English. As ever, don’t neglect the thread under the stories, our comments section remains the only place on the internet where reading beneath the line is not just encouraged, but a joy.

“In today’s story about his Triumph GT6 Andrew English mentioned its ‘potentially dangerous’ rear suspension derived from the Triumph Herald. It reminded me that when I was editor of Sports Car World in Australia in 1972, a reader sent in these pictures of his Herald, with a letter saying ‘the incident happened during a provoked weaving test’. A very silly thing to do: Heralds were notorious for the way their swing-axle rear end allowed the wheels to tuck under, not infrequently with such dire consequences.”

According to the team at Mercedes-Benz Classic, no automotive journalist has been allowed to drive a 300 SLR in many years — until now.

Last month, The Intercooler’s became one of the very few journalists ever to get behind the wheel of one, driving the last of the ten 300 SLRs at Mercedes’ test track near Stuttgart. It’s one of the most valuable cars on the planet.

Ex-Stig makes his debut on The Intercooler with his review of the extraordinary Ferrari F80, live now on the app and website (link in bio or stories). Successor to the LaFerrari and just the third ever Ferrari F-car, the F80 is a near 1200bhp carbon fibre hypercar with a £3m asking price.

We sent Ben to Misano in Italy to thrash the F80 as hard as he dared. He understood the assignment. Ben also drove the car on the road and in town – he says he’s sure he’s had more fun before in his life, but he can’t remember when...

Fair to say he liked it, then. Question is, can you forgive the F80 its little V6 engine and, um, very functional looks? Let us know in the comments.

Choose an annual subscription at the link in bio and you start your 30-day free trial right now.

It’s the big question, and we finally put it to Andrew and Dan: what would they choose for their dream two-car garage?

Thought we knew the answers. We didn’t. You might be surprised too.

75 years ago, the very first Formula 1 World Championship Grand Prix was held, right here at Silverstone.

To mark the anniversary, we’re offering 30 per cent off the first year of an annual subscription to The Intercooler, one for every year a Brit has won their home Grand Prix.

Fittingly, the winners of 30 per cent of those races will line up this Sunday… and they’re all called Sir Lewis Hamilton. 🇬🇧

That’s nine wins, all at Silverstone, the most by any driver on a single circuit in F1 history.

We have never offered a bigger discount … and it’s live now. But be quick: the offer disappears the moment the chequered flag falls around 5pm Sunday.

Join The Intercooler, support world-class motorsport journalism, and let’s cheer on Lewis, Lando, George and Ollie for a 31st British GP win.

Use code BGP30 at checkout or follow the link in the story.
