So Mixing for Atmos in 7.1.4 is a real thing here at The Workshoppe. The room and monitor system is tweaked and tuned. I spent most of the week doing a lot of listening to Atmos mixes on Apple Music. As of now, my two favorites are Giles Martin's immersive mix of Penny Lane, and Chic's Good Times. (Hey Richard Hilton, who DID that?) Of course, Rocket Man is the one lots of folks talk about. That's pretty good too.
I've now finished my first mix of Ray Lambiase's "Around the Horn” from his new album "Perfume Like A Full Moon". What a great song. Makes me tear up every time.

I still love mixing tall, deep and wide in stereo, but this new sandbox is a lot of fun too.

Neumann MA-1 alignment tweak. Getting better at collecting the data and modifying the target curve. KH310s and sub sounding great! Let's mix!

Unless Ray Lambiase scratches his chin and says ... "There's just one more little thing ..." we just finished mixing his new album "Perfume Like a Full Moon". We are sending this great collection of songs off to Mike Kalajian at Rogue Planet Mastering.
Ray and Lanny Sichel on guitars, Shawn Murray and Bill Intemann on drums, Kevin Kelly on bass, Tony Montalbo on fiddle, Kate Corrigan, Kirsten Maxwell, rorie kelly and Ray on vocals.
Thanks for trusting me with the bass, recording and mixing. This is the fourth album in the last 8 years. We may not be fast, but we're good!

Congratulations to Marian Mastrorilli on her release of Sea Salt and Sawdust - the first completed in the new studio. It was great to see the Huntington music community out in force to support her CD release party yesterday at Industry. She and all her friends gave us and afternoon of wonderful music.

Today's tools! This bass was assembled exactly 50 years ago for a Bee Gee tour where I played for openers Janey and Dennis with Arlen Roth. '74 fretless maple neck and '62 electronics and tuners.
