As it stands now Nigeria may not qualify for the 2026 world,and it is a shame that some of these players may not experience what it feels to be at the world cup.By the time the 2030 word cup will take place,Ademola Lookman will be 32,Victor Oshimhen will be 31,Moses Simon will be 34,Troost Ekong will be 36,Ola Aina will be 33.Its sad because this is a generation that produced a back to back African footballer of the year in the likes of Ademola Lookman and Victor Oshimhen.

Our take on the 2026 world cup qualifiers between Nigeria and Rwanda played yesterday in Kigali.Coach Eric Chelle got his tactics right employing the 4-2-4 formation.We saw an attacking minded coach,who for the first time in the history of the current set of Eagles played Samuel Chukwueze,Victor Oshimhen,Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon together.The attack minded formation ensured that the Eagles pressured the Rwandan defence resulting in the goals scored by Victor Oshimhen.The midfield partnership of Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi also did well curtailing the opposition midfield and spreading killer passes.Kudos to the Eagles backline of captain Troost Ekon,Kalvin Bassey,Ola Aina and Ossai Samuel who also did well to stop the Rwandan attack.Special recognition to goalkeeper Stanley Nwanbali for showing confidence through out the match.Shifting focus to the Zimbabwe match on Tuesday,Coach Chelle should maintain the same system and deploy Victor Boniface in place of Samuel Chukwueze.The Zimbabwe side we saw against Benin Republic are beatable if the players show the same zeal and commitment they showed against Rwanda.
